Types of Braces
We all desire to have that perfect smile with properly aligned teeth, but that’s not the reality for many people. While the lucky few go through childhood and early adulthood without developing any real issues, most will explore ways to straighten their teeth and correct their smiles. To achieve that perfect smile, we offer different types of braces so that you can choose the option that best suits your lifestyle.
With advances in orthodontic technology, there are more treatment options today than ever. When you work with our experienced team at Braces Now, Dr. Sol can pair you with the right type of braces that fits your life and budget. The process starts with a free initial consultation and ends with a beautiful, confident smile and a happy patient.
How To Get Started
The process begins with Dr. Sol and our staff using our on-site iTero digital scanner. This innovative device can render digital 2D and 3D images showing your lower maxillofacial region (jaws and teeth). In addition, this device replaces messy and uncomfortable putty impressions and allows our staff to see a more accurate picture of your smile.
Some of the most common issues our iTero digital scanner can help detect are:
- Overbites
- Crossbites
- Underbites
- Gaps in teeth
- Unevenly spaced or overcrowding teeth
The total time of your treatment can range between 12 to 24 months. This timeframe depends upon the severity of the orthodontic issues needing correcting. See our video below from Dr. Sol answering the question, “How long will I have to wear braces?”.
Our Different Types Of Braces
At Braces Now, we offer Norcross, GA, residents three types of braces. Each type of braces works just as efficiently as the next but offers different benefits and features to help you feel confident and comfortable throughout treatment. Our experienced team will review each option available to you and help you decide which braces are best for your specific case. We will also answer any questions you may have and tailor our treatment plan to best fit your budget, including flexible financing options.
Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces are the braces most people think of when it comes to straightening teeth. Metal brackets are attached to your teeth and connected with a metal archwire. These wires are what assist in moving the teeth. Dr. Sol will need to tighten these wires every 4-6 weeks to ensure that consistent, gentle pressure is applied to your teeth.
Traditional metal braces are a top choice for patients due to their lower cost paired with their proven effectiveness.
Clear Ceramic
Clear ceramic braces function in the same way as traditional metal braces. The brackets are affixed to the teeth and connected with the thin metal archwire. The main difference is that the brackets are made from a ceramic material that blends in with your natural tooth color. This option is perfect for people wanting to avoid the classic metal look.
Iconix® AO Braces
Iconix braces utilize champagne-colored stainless steel brackets. They function the same as any other braces option while offering a more distinctive and pleasing look.
Treatment time for our Iconix braces lasts around the same time frame as other types of braces. The main difference is the more aesthetically appealing appearance of the brackets compared to others.
